HAPPENINGS ON MAIN STREET
Happenings on Main Street are back for it 9th year of musical happenings in beautiful downtown Northport. Happenings 2007 takes place at the edge of the park near the dock in the historic village of Northport every Friday evening from May 25 through August 31. From 7 to 8:30 pm hear the sounds of jazz, blues, bluegrass, country, swing, funk, ballads and contemporary music performed by talented musicians, singers and songwriters. Happenings 2007 presents a combination of the many great artists who have graced our park-side patio in the past years and some new artists who add their own flair to provide an ever expanding range of musical flavors to our Happenings project.
Happenings 2007 starts out on Friday evening, May 25 with singer/songwriter Mike Lashnitz. Mike is new to our stage, but not new to musical performances. Having grown up playing a full range of musical styles and lead vocalist with most of the bands with which he has played, Mike has now settled on solo guitar offering some of his own music as well as contemporary folk.
Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a voice as clear as cool water, Cathy Kreger delivers more pure music per minute than a bevy of roadhouse rockers on Friday, June 1st. Her irresistible voice and guitar has earned her a place on the Huntington Summer Arts Festival stage and with world-class acts, including David Bromberg at the IMAC. Cathy mixes blues and jazz with rhythms, superb vocal and solid acoustic guitar work. Share many of her own passionate vocals
