NAC VILLAGE HALL ART SHOW

" Theater Vision"

The Northport Theatre's doors closed two years ago, creating an agitated silence for the Northport Community. Voices are now stirring. What does the future hold for a theatre that was a vital part of Main Street from 1933 until only a few years ago. Can this space once again be a vital part of our community life? We are looking for artwork that gives form to the many abstract concepts of what this theatre could be. Artists often see things with a unique eye. It is hoped that their vision will influence this community issue.

Hanging: Saturday, March 5, 2005

Meet the Artist Reception: March 12, 2005

(the show will run for 2 months)

Now is the time to take out your paint brush and easel (Photographers--your camera and tripod!), and get ready to participate

Do-Ing Music

On Friday, January 21st, the Armonia Quartet will be back by popular demand.  Featured behind the musicians will be the artwork of Elizabeth Yaari.  The warm sounds of these dedicated string players as well as the vibrant colors used in Ms. Yaari's renderings on silk will be a welcome boost on a cold winter's night.  Refreshments afterwards. Advance tickets for this free event will be available through the Northport Library, 151 Laurel Ave., Northport, 261-6930.  The program begins at 7:30 p.m.
