Dr.Anton Armstrong, from the St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, is our guest conductor. The program features a variety of sacred choral anthems, some with brass and organ, some with flutes and piano, and our centerpiece offering, Vivaldi’s Magnificat will be performed with a small chamber orchestra. No tickets are required to attend. A free-will offering will be received to further the music ministry of the church. In October Installation in the Library, Greenley Hall, Farmingdale State University, NY: In Memoriam, September 11, 2001, Digital Photo Montages by Kate Kelly On view through October 31, 2003. This installation is comprised of a series of digital photo montages using photographs taken from live television coverage on September 11, 2001, stills from subsequent videos aired on television, and the artist’s original photographs taken at Ground Zero, October, 2001. Some of the montages include text describing the events of 9/11. Also on display is the artist’s original poem, Sing, etched into Plexiglas. George W. Hart will exhibit recent sculpture made of acrylic and other materials that have been cut or assembled with computer assistance. They will be on view during the month of October in the Northport Public Library, under his “Millennium Bookball” Sculpture near the first floor reference desk. The North Shore Art Guild is hosting the 10th Annual Open Juried Exhibition, November 2003 at the Brookhaven Cultural Arts Center “Gallery on the Hill”, in Farmingville.
