Subject: NAC NEWS From: PatBond Date: Fri, 30 May 2003 18:39:03 -0400 NAC NEWS - JUNE Now that most TV series have shown their season finales, it's time to venture forth into the real world, and so here are a few suggestions from The Northport Arts Coalition. Perception and Metaphor - Interpreting Fine-Art Photography John Ellsworth, an award-winning Northport photographer, will conduct a digital-slide presentation and talk on the influences that shape figurative interpretations of fine-art photography. His program will include: # A perspective of fine-art photography integrating levels of meaning and the dynamics of time and space. # The role perception and context play in shaping interpretation. # An interactive session where he will share about 15 of his images for the audience to interpret. The presentation on June 11 at 7:30 in the Northport Library Community Room will be followed by a question-and-answer period. For more about John Ellsworth . . . go to www.northportarts.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help Wanted: Diana Cherryholmes from the Huntington Arts Council is seeking someone for the position of Grants Coordinator to work part-time at the Huntington Arts Council. For detail contact: Diana J. Cherryholmes, Huntington Arts Council, Inc., 213 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743 at 631.271.8423, ext.13 huntarts@optonline.net or www.huntingtonarts.org ______________________________________________________________________ The Do-ing Music Program is looking for interested artists to design a backdrop of some kind to be displayed behind the stage of the Northport Library. The only limits the library stipulates is that it must be removable. This could be a great opportunity for NAC artists and musicians to interface...We could even perhaps display people's artwork behind the musicians for each concert (they are quarterly - four a year). The blank white wall we now have behind the stage is so barren looking. Anyone have any brilliant ideas? If so, contact Sally Shorrock at laser86298@AOL.com. Thanks! A round of applause for Audra Moricca and Kelly Horsted for their wonderful performance on May 14 at NAC's last meeting. ___________________________________________________________________ NAC Member Margita Hatfield is organizing an art exhibition and sale Fathers' Day in the Park on June 15th with musical accompaniment.
