We were especially delighted to see a number of young students in attendance. They seemed to be truly enchanted by the delightful sounds of the Last Rose of Summer and a performance of Joplin’s rag on the flute. We would like to give a big thank-you to all 95 NAC members who made this entertainment possible. Yes, our ranks have swelled to 95! NAC was proud to present another great performance on January 24th when Sally Shorrock brought us another Do-ing Music Concert. Such a fine and varied group of performers! Composers such as Bellini, Mozart, Purcell, Bach, and Isabella’s all time favorite Vivaldi were on the program. The next Do-ing Music concert will be on Friday April 4 at the Northport Library. We certainly appreciate their generosity is supplying the space. A grant from The New York State Council on the Arts administered by the Huntington Arts Council helped make this possible. Thank you to them and the grant writers. On Sunday January 19th NAC presented Art at the Village Hall featuring artists Emily Eisen and her husband Ray Pollard. Their work will be there until March 15th. It’s worth dropping in to see. March 22nd will be the start of a new exhibit in the Village Hall titled "On the Horizon." Toni Giovanetti’s Writers Workshop began its first session on January 30 in our new office on Larkfield Road. It will continue on Thursday evenings through February 27. If interested, contact her at toni@emagineservices.com or just show up at 384 Larkfield Road, Suite 4. The first publication of NAC’s Journal for the Arts was mailed to members in January.
