Our November program was a delightful potpourri of performances which included theater performances, poetry, opera, a sonata, and a brief art show. Performed by the following: Frank Zinghini, Tom Fischer, Sally Shorrock, Kate Kelly, Tara Kavanagh, S. W. Borthwick, Jean Brown, Dominic Bodden, Stephanie Graelow, and Isabella Eredita-Johnson. The Artwork of Ronnie Valerio continues showing at Northport Village Hall. December 8 on Monday, at 8pm there will be A Benefit for the Cinema Arts Centre in the Cinema’s Sky Room, featuring poetry and music by Phil Asaph, Kate Kelly, Alan Semerdjian, Martha Trachtenberg, and George Wallace. Ernie Taub (former Assistant Principal at the High School) presents; Mysteries of the Universe to be seen at Northport High School Gallery (Elwood and Laurel Hill Roads) starting December 4 through January 6. December 14th Wassail Messiah Sing-In The Northport Chorale hosts its yearly Handel’s Messiah Sing-in at the Trinity Episcopal Church on Main Street just steps from Northport’s quaint harbor in all its seasonal glory. The Northport Chorale welcomes singers and listener’s alike to join in an expression of appreciation for Handel’s most glorious masterwork. Following the musical performance is a reception with a traditional wassail bowl and mountains of home-made goodies. There is no admission charge, however a free will offering of five dollars will help fund the Northport Chorale’s annual Scholarship. High School students planning to major in vocal music will vie for this award. Please join us for a most special Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, at three o’clock in the afternoon.
