Art on Exhibit: Art Peace organized by Thea Lanizero is now on view at the Northport Village Hall Do-Art presented by the Northport Historical Society and Museum Both of theses exhibits will be available for viewing in August and include works from NAC members and the Northport area community. A visit will demonstrate how blessed we are with artists and show them our appreciation. July 25th, "Sailing on Dreams" Poetry Event sponsored by the Elaine Stein Gallery and NAC, organized by Kate Kelly was an enormous success. Poets, George Wallace, MJ Tanerelli and Phil Sparacino with guest artist Karen Hansen Gellert The HUMANITIES Magazine, which member Jim Friel edits and of which Kate Kelly is the Associate Editor, has published a number of NAC members, is now available on a web site. The Web Site is http://www.victoriatwomey.com/AITIA/index.htm DO-ING MUSIC UPDATE: The summer Do-ing Music program in July was a huge success, certainly our highest quality performance to date. Featured was the Armonia String Quartet and a surprise visit and comments by composer Mark Grant. The Fall program on Fri. October 3rd, 7:30 p.m. at The Northport Library will feature accomplished vocalists from the area, as well as fine instrumentalists. Such collaboration between singers, winds, keyboard (any maybe a few strings) adds a new musical dimension for all involved and will be a treat not to be missed! Mark your calendars Five of Elizabeth Yaaris paintings are on vacation in the Hamptons for August. They're at Ann Kolb Gallery at 46 Main Street, East Hampton 631.324 3443. They will be at the Hampton Classic Horse Show for Labor Day weekend. To mark ten years since the death of the well known poet William Stafford, Long Island poets will hold a tribute reading for the native of Hutchison, Kansas on Friday, August 15. The event, to be held at 8 p.m. at the Conklin Barn in Huntington (Route 110 and High Street, two blocks south of Main Street), Kathy Kreger will be opening at the IMAC Intermedia Arts Center in Huntington for David Bromberg on August 22, 2003. Mark your calendar for September 10th when David Isaacs, Martha Trachtenberg, Tom Griffith, and Judith Zwiemann will appear at the Northport Library Community Room at 7:30 p.m....
