March 13, 2002.     We are a little early this month with our news letter,
but we wanted to let you know well in advance to plan for our next meeting
which is  Wednesday, March 13th in the Northport Public Library Community
Room at 7:30pm.

We will be enjoying  a Brahms Clarinet trio in A-minor, Op.114.  The
performers are:
 Gene Keyes, clarinet
 Sue Valerio, 'cello
 Isabella Eredita, piano
Gene is a music teacher at Smithtown High School.  Sue plays professionally
with the Long Island Philharmonic, and we all are fortunate that Isabella
our local piano virtuoso is joining them.

We will be meeting Greg Tsontakis-Mally a watercolorist of some note who
will bring some samples of his work, and discuss his art.  Greg is an artist
who lives in East Northport.   His art work is currently showing at the
HUTCHINS GALLERY, C. W. Post Center. L.I.U,  720 Northern Blvd., Brookville,
NY  from Feb. 5 thru March 15.  Gallery Hours: 2-5pm Tues.-Sat.

March 15th - is the dealine for the NAC sponsored poetry contest.  For

April 19, 2002 - , Friday, at 7:30.The Diabelli Variations - 34 Pianists in
performance.

May 8, 2002 - An evening of poetry from the above mentioned contest and an
art exhibit by Margita Hatfield.

June 12, 2002 - Doris Rowe, a long-time scholar of American icons, in a
timely presentation, will explain the fascinating geometric configuration of
the American Flag, the Eagle, and the Pyramid in her complex digital
illustrations.

THURSDAYS at 6: Tune in to WUSB 90-1 FM for the weekly
POETRYBROOK USA radio show, a half hour presentation from the campus
of SUNY Stony Brook featuring George Wallace and Sue Pilewski. The
show is a collaboration of the Long Island Poetry Collective and SUNY
