Subject: June 02 NAC NEWS From: PatBond NORTHPORT ARTS COALITION NEWS June 5, 2002 Next Wednesday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Northport Public Library Community Room, Doris Rowe, a long-time scholar of American icons, in a timely presentation, will explain the fascinating geometric configuration of the American Flag, the Eagle, and the Pyramid in her beautiful and complex illustrations. After her presentation, you will have a better insight into the meaning of the many flags which we see flying these days. We now have 80 dues-paying members! Upcoming and Ongoing: The latest NAC sponsored "Artists Celebrate Northport" show at the Northport Village Hall Courtroom will run through July 12. Drop in and see your neighbors' artwork. NAC in cooperation with the Northport Chamber of Commerce will be supporting "Happenings on Main Street" (mostly musical events to take place on Friday's 6-7:30p.m.) We have been invited to take part in Cow Harbor Day, which is Sunday, September 29. June 23rd -The seventh annual Northport Area Artists DOART show, curated by Joan Fahey, will open at the Northport Historical Museum and run through August 18th. Entry forms can be picked up at the Museum (215 Main Street) or the Northport Library. Artwork can be dropped off at the Museum on Friday, June 14th or Saturday, June 15th, 1:30-4:30p.m. Two able-bodied strong people are needed to volunteer their time to help set up the panels for the exhibit.
