Subject: Re: feb NAC NEWS From: PatBond Wednesday, February 06, 2002 Northport Arts Coalition News On Wednesday, at 7:30pm, February 13, in the Northport Library meeting room Jeff Bennett will discuss his new publication Secondary Stages. The program will be directed towards the interest of those who are in attendance. Jeff has had broad experience in many aspects of theater including directing and teaching, and will be entertaining and informative. We would also like to discuss with our members the many new and exciting projects that are underway or in the offing. We have been successful in obtaining a Decentralization Grant from the Huntington Arts Council, and are looking forward to promoting new projects for our membership. A poetry project is underway for our May 8th meeting. We have a successful membership drive and are looking forward to seeing our new members. ART NEWS from the community. February 4th - B. J. Cassidy and Charlotte Koons attended an "Artists Networking Dinner," sponsored by the East End Arts Council. They returned with information about the art community and were delighted to learn how enthusiastic others were about what we are doing. February 8-9th - Northport-East Northport Community Theater presents: The Sound of Music at 8 p.m. at the Laurel Avenue School Auditorium, Northport. February 10th @ 2:00 p.m. $10 Adults, $8 Senior Citizens/Students March 9th is the tentative date for the new art show at the Village Hall. The title is "Northport Old and New."
