Subject: NAC NEWS Date: Wed, 04 Dec 2002 19:47:07 -0500 From: PatBond NAC NEWS – December 4, 2002 A big thanks you to Glenn Baldwin and Friends of Jazz for treating us to live music at our last meeting on November 13th.Our meeting on Wednesday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m., with the cooperation of the Northport Library, will present an evening of theater, without the need for a trip to the Big Apple. Compliments of NAC members. First on the program will be a performance by Charlotte Koon’s C.A.S.T (Children’s After School Theater) with the help of Ghislaine Grillo (movement, music, and design). Six girls who’ve participated in the sessions of Young Actor’s Tool Box at The Posey School will debut in an "Alice in Wonderland Fantasy" based on the classic by Lewis Carroll. Participating will be: Caitlin Aymong, Danielle Burby, MaryAnn Carey, Marissa Lieberman-Klein, and Katie Quigley, with the assistance of Sarah Gottlieb (understudy and creative input.) We will then have a brief intermission so that at parents’ discretion, children may take their leave. The remainder of the performances will be directed to adults. (Heller) On January 14, we are looking forward to Nancy Reycraft’s flutefest, featuring 8 flutists and on the 24th another Do-ing Music Concert, featuring our own Tara Kavanagh. Tune in for more information! NAC’S Journal for the Arts Look for NAC’s Journal for the Arts, a publication that will be mailed to you quarterly beginning in February. We plan to include the NAC schedule, interview different members in each issue, and report on NAC events. A new feature called WHAT’S HAPPENING will keep track of what our members are doing. If you’re having a concert, publishing a poem, participating in an art show, or just creating, let us know so we can tell everyone else. Some of the information will also be available on our web site (www.northportarts.org).
