NORTHORT ARTS COALITION NEWS  11-08-01

We are looking forward to Wednesday, the 14th of November when the 
Northport Arts Coalition will be entertained by Robby Nagy who will be 
playing some pieces from his newly issued CD.  Linda Mulrean a talented 
soprano will be singing several Italian songs by Rossini.  We start at 
7:30 at the Northport Public Library.  Live Entertainment!

We also hope to hear a favorite poem from volunteers in the audience, your own 
or someone else’s..   We welcome artists in the community to bring in a work-in-
progress for feedback. The positive kind. 

Our Black & White Ball on the 27th was a true success.  Many thanks to Elsa 
Poesy for the use of her Dance Studio.  The costumes were stunning.  The belly 
dancing was delightful.  The theater games were hilarious.  The tarot cards were 
on the mark. And the refreshments were delicious.  I’m sure all who attended 
will return next year for another truly special evening.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON THE 14th.  BRING A FRIEND.

NAC COMMUNITY  NEWS:

Getting into the holiday mood, we are looking forward to program for December 
which will include a cappella singing.  More later.

“Artists Celebrate Northport” an exhibit of local artists sponsored by NAC 
will be on display in the Northport Village Hall Courtroom until February 21st 
2002.  Show your support, and drop in. Enjoy the works of your community 
artists.

Sundays @ Seven – The Northport Historical Museum-NOVEMBER 11TH  - 
THE LONG ISLAND POETRY THEATRE Presents SONG OF OURSELVES 
starring Walt Whitman.  The Long Island Poetry Theater has been entertaining 
Long Island audiences for four seasons. They are a repertory theater with two 
scripts that highlight the extraordinary talent of the LI poetry community. The 
troupe showcases not only the poetry of the region but also fine original music 
and is set in a format that gives rise to the name "poetry play." Treat yourself
to an evening of poetry, music, and drama.
