Who’s Who in the Band
Mel Conner, drums - 45-year Long Island resident, Army veteran, with an advertising career in New York City. Recreational scat-singer, actor, voice-over spokesman with civic interests in fund-raising, local politics, and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Craig Becker, bass – Native to Huntington, Craig is a professional woodworker who spends his spare time playing music or racing cars.
Dave Bushnell, trumpet – A familiar face on the New York City music scene, Dave’s credits range from playing Tchaikovsky with the Boston Symphony brass section at the Tanglewood Institute to frequent jazz appearances at The Knitting Factory, The Bitter End, and Session 73 in Manhattan.
Steve Witthoft, trombone – A Northport resident who owns his own advertising sales company, Steve has recorded a number of albums and CD’s.
Chip Smith, guest piano – A Northport native and professional film editor in New York City, Chip is a product of Northport’s school music program, playing both classical and jazz piano.
Alice Weiser, guest vocalist – A Huntington resident, Alice is an actress, singer and dancer currently appearing in “Constant Wonder,” an original children’s music and theater performance. She enjoys singing lead for local band “Cuba Hill” and taking care of her three small children.
Glenn Baldwin, piano – A retired English teacher from Northport High School, Glenn now tutors students for the verbal SAT, rides his ’96 Electra Glide Classic with the Long Island Harley Owners Group, and edits its monthly newsletter. For more information, call Glenn at 631-757-5048.
