Artists Celebrate Northport
Exhibits at Northport Village Hall

The Northport Arts Coalition presents A Definition of Excellence, the latest exhibit in the VILLAGE HALL ART SHOW SERIES. A juried show of selected works, by Margaret Minardi’s 11th and 12th grade Advanced Placement Art students at Northport High, will be on view at the Northport Village Hall, 224 Main St., Northport, through April 27. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Meet the young artists at an Opening Reception on Sunday, February 11 between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. October 15, 2006 (sunday) 3:00-5:00, Village Hall Art Show Opening Reception. Open to all artists, painters, photographers, printers, collagists,etc. (application) RANDOM ACTS OF ART, A Northport Village Hall Art Series Exhibit, will be on view until December 16. Oils, acrylics, photographs, collages, limited edition prints, and charcoal drawings can be seen at the Northport Village Hall, 224 Main St., Northport, NY. June 25, 2006, Our newest Show is featuring paintings and drawings of things and people we enjoy in this favored time of the year. Is it your boat or child? Perhaps an abstract thought of the essence of summer could be your choice. The opening reception is Sunday, June 25, 3-5pm. Please read the guidelines and GOOD LUCK!
April 23, 2006, Local Lens, Curator Maqrgita Hatfield, Featuring photography. The theme of this latest exhibit is really a question, "What are our local photographers doing?" It seems that more people than ever are interested in this medium, especially since the advent of digital. Amatuers and professionals were both welcomed.

March 2005, Theater Vision, The Northport Theatre's doors closed two years ago, creating an agitated silence for the Northport Community. Voices are now stirring. What does the future hold for a theatre that was a vital part of Main Street from 1933 until only a few years ago. Can this space once again be a vital part of our community life? We are looking for artwork that gives form to the many abstract concepts of what this theatre could be. Artists often see things with a unique eye. It is hoped that their vision will influence this community issue. Hanging: Saturday, March 5, 2005. Meet the Artist Reception: March 12, 2005.
