• June 8 - OSQ, formally known as the Oak Street Quartet, started as a Northport village neighborhood backyard group playing improvisational jazz for family and friends.  OSQ was the first featured band group for Happenings on Main Street on that first Friday evening in May, 1999.  Eight years later, Steve Bennett on bass, Bob Gelabert on keyboard, Doug Lamb on sax, and Mike White on drums bring an easy listening lounge style jazz to the park-side patio.  OSQ now plays area lounges, Northport events, and private parties as time off from their daily demands permits.
• June 15 - High energy groove, tight and funky, Nobody’s Fool boasts a group of top level musicians led by Phil Azzara (drums), Dean Stelding (guitar & lead vocal), Bill Wagner (rhythm guitar, and Frank Turano (bass).  Musical selections include arrangements by Robben Ford and Delbert McClinton. Nobody’s Fool will delight the audience with a mix of blues, funk, jazz and some fast swing.
• June 22 - Open Mike Night, hosted by Happenings 2007 Artistic Directors Sandy and Steve Edwards, will bring another group of talented artists to our sidewalk patio stage.  For some artists this performance may be their very first time in front of a public audience.  Other artists, although having some previous experience, may be trying out new techniques and instruments.  But everyone, including the audience, will have lots of fun and may even be invited to join in.
• June 29 - Tommy Santoriello brings a long Northport musical family background to Happenings 2007.  Carving out a musical niche with a unique, fun selection of contemporary tunes, supported by his lively guitar and mandolin renderings, Tommy promises to bring a lively evening of fun to the park side patio.
• July 27 Teacher and singer/songwriter Connie Gillies teams up with jazz and pop si Latimer Family Reunion returns.
• August 17th Artistic Directors Sandy and Steve Edwards share the spotlight with their friends on a special Welcome Home happening. It’s a two-for-the-price-of-one night when the Princess Peapod duo Michele Frimmer and Dave Cook add a twist of lemon to an already packed cocktail of fun and music. Singer/songwriters Michele and Dave formed Princess Peapod to showcase their imaginative, often reflective, folk music that appeals to a diverse audience.

• August 31st, Glenn Baldwin and Friends of Jazz offer a variety of standards from Cole Porter to Thelonius Monk along with a few original pieces.  The group has performed well-received concerts on Long Island from Mattituck to Manhattan over the past several years.  The team of Glenn Baldwin on piano, Steve Witthoft on trombone, Peter Kaufmann on trumpet, Craig Becker on bass guitar and Andy Squillacioti on drums provide the musical beat.  Alice Weiser provides the vocal melodies.  Glenn always manages to find great guest artists to showcase their musical talents during the evening.  Vocalist Linda Catania and pianist Chip Smith have recently become part of the permanent guest artist list.  We are sure there will be more.  What better way to end the season’s Happenings on Main Street series  than to enjoy the infectious rhythms of  the Friends of Jazz.
