Tonight's tenor, trumpet and piano trio first met at Stony Brook University in the
Pre-College and Adult Community Music Program.  This program brings together
serious high school musicians in the pre-college section and adult musicians in
the community music section, for chamber music, under the direction fo

Artist Biographies:

Tara Kavanagh is a singer/actress/dancer.  She has been a proud member of
the Northport Arts Coalition for approximately two years, working on the
Millenium Celebration where she was the master of ceremonies and performed
at the "Classical Corner" and "Happenings on Main St.", bringing live music to
Northport's downtown on Friday evenings and occassional Sundays.  Currently
she is teaching private voice and piano lessons, singing for weddings, funerals
and requested events, performing with "Monkeyshine 9" (an old-timey, jazz band) 
and in a film short in Manhattan.  she is always looking for new projects and
people to work with. 

Lillian LaBarbara has performed since the age of five when she made her debut
at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.  At age fifteen, she gave a concert at The
Little Theater in Manhattan.  LaBarbara holds degrees in music from
Manhattanville College and C.W. Post.  she was the Northport High School
choral director for fifteen years and currently directs a Centerport church chior.

Ms. Messina studied at the Athens Conservatory in Greece and also at Hofstra
University under Morton Estrin.  She has performed at the 92nd Street Y, the
Bruno Walter Auditorium of Lincoln Center, the Weill Recital Hall, the Manhattan
School of Music, and the Jacksonville Arts Auditorium in Florida.  Ms. Messina
also maintains a demanding schedule of private students at her home in
Huntington.  She is currently studying harmony and receiving coaching from the
renowned artist Lawrence Schubert.

Peter Howard (cellist) received his Bachelor of Music degree in cello
performance from the University of Southern California and his Master of Music
degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.  His cello
teachers include Janos Starker, Bernard Greenhouse, Gabor Rejto, Lynn
Harrell, Robert Gardner, and George Neikrug.
Mr. Howard has been a member of the Florida, Puerto Rico, and Thunder Bay
Symphonies.  He participated in the Sienna, Casals, and the Aspen Music
Festivals.  He performed with The New York City Opera, National Company for
nine seasons and currently performs with The Poulenc Chamber Players and
The Synergy String Quartet.  In 1988, Peter performed with The New York City
Symphony at the International Olympics in Soul, Korea.
Mr. Howard teaches cello privately and is an adjunct professor at Five Towns
College in Dix Hills.
Besides being an active cellist, Mr. Howard is the fouder of Peter Howard
Classical Ensembles-an organization that performs at weddings and other social
events.  A social highlight occurred when The Peter Howard classical Ensemble
performed at Steven Spielberg's wedding in the Hamptons.
 

Audra Moricca, a native of Northport, NY began her musical studies as a
violinist, studying at Manhattan School of Music. She received her Bachelor of
Music in applied voice from Mannes School of Music in Manhattan, and her
Master of Arts degree in Vocal Performance at Aaron Copland School of Music
at CUNY Queens College. 
      Audra maintains an active performing career as a New York based spinto
soprano. As an opera singer and recitalist, she has worked extensively with such
prestigious musicians, vocalists and directors as Richard Crittenden, Kelly
Horsted, Leo Lozito, Gary Norden, Daniel Ragone and Elisabeth Vrenios. 
      Currently Audra is a faculty member at Five Towns College, Molloy College
and Music in Chappaqua. 
      Pianist Kelly Horsted, a native of Iowa, enjoys an active career in NYC as an
accompanist and vocal coach. He just completed his second summer as a
faculty member at Ann Baltz's Operaworks in California. He was the music
director of the New York based opera company The CoOperative for six years. 
      Recently Kelly was music director for readings of  The Bridge of San Luis
Rey with American Opera Projects. Other performances include Friends and
Enemies of New Music, Vector 5, Cutting Edge Music and Downtown Music
Productions. He assisted preparing the cast of Patience and Sarah for the
chamber opera's premiere at the Lincoln Center Festival.  As a coach at  the
Mannes College of Music, he served as music director for performances of Ned
Rorem's Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters. 
      Kelly performs with several community outreach programs including Trinity
Church Concerts to Go, Arts Horizons, and Hospital Audiences. Mr. Horsted
was music director for performances of  Cosi fan Tutte at Merkin Concert Hall
with director Janet Bookspan, and for Harrisburg, PA's Opera in the Park. He
accompanied readings of Peter Lieberson's  Ashoka's Dream at the
Guggenheim Museum with members of the Santa Fe Opera, as well as excerpts
from Bernstein's A Quiet Place at Symphony Space with members of the original
cast. 
     Kelly served as staff accompanist at the International Workshops in Graz,
Austria, and at the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine. Mr.
Horsted is a gifted and versatile young pianist whose other performances
include appearances at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and the prestigious Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, as well as Fountainbleau, France and NBC's
Weekend Today Show. He earned both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees
from Eastman School of Music, where he was a fellowship recipient and 1st
place winner in the Kneisel  Lieder Competition.
